Semenovsky Bridge
Once one of the elegant drawbridges built across the Fontanka River in the 1780s - almost identical to Lomonosov and Chernishev Bridges - the current Semenovsky Bridge, which is part of historic Gorokhovaya Ulitsa, retains only its granite piers from that era. The deck was removed and replaces with steel in 1857, and completely reconstructed in 1949. The modern Semenovsky Bridge, which takes its name from the Semenovsky Guards, whose barracks once stood nearby, is remarkable only for the fine views it offers on all sides.
