Located not far from the Mariinsky Theatre and popular with tour guides, 1913 is a formal restaurant that aims to invoke the experience of fine dining in pre-Revolutionary St. Petersburg. Unlike other establishments with a similar modus operandi, 1913 is a relatively democratic establishment that falls well within the budget of most tourists. The atmosphere can be a little starchy, but is enlivened by a trio performing classical music in the evenings. The food is simple but of good quality.
