A long-established English pub with a great location just off Nevsky Prospekt (and now a second location on the Petrograd Side), James Cook is reasonably pricey, particularly for food, but is one of the more civilized places in central St. Petersburg for a quiet drink. There is a good selection of draft beers and malt whiskeys, and the food is above average by pub standards. The central location has charming summer seating. It also has a good coffee-house attached.
