NEP was the New Economic Policy launched by Lenin in 1921. It ushered in an era of shady capitalism and doomed decadence somewhat analogous to the Prohibition era in the US. This cabaret and restaurant close to Palace Square seeks to recreate the heady atmosphere of the period, and offers a menu of Russian and European cuisines inspired by the era, as well as dishes of modern Italian cuisine. It's most famous for its cabaret shows and mini-musicals, which are designed to be appreciated by non-Russian speakers as well as locals.
