For the adventurous, Peking is probably the only place in St. Petersburg where you can have a snake (or turtle) slaughtered in front of you and turned into a meal for four. Even if that's not your idea of the perfect evening out, Peking also serves up a good-quality menu of Chinese standards and more exotic fare at reasonable prices and is one of the better dining options close to the Mariinsky Theatre. The interiors are impressively ornate.
