Pita's is one of the big success stories of the craze for street food in St. Petersburg. What began as a small cafe on Gorokhovaya Ulitsa in 2014 has now expanded into a citywide chain with several locations, including one smack in the middle of Nevsky Prospekt. The common feature of the vast majority of its menu items is, unsurprisingly, that they come in pitas or tortilla-like flatbreads. The fare here includes classics from a number of culinary traditions, including wraps, burritos, falafel and shawarma - but don't be fooled by the familiar names, as there's nothing boring about the menu at Pita's. In addition to traditional ingredients, the Pita's chefs also incorporate unexpected flavors and items like mint, bryndza cheese, and red cowberry sauce, which make for unique street food creations.
