Opened by one of St. Petersburg's best-known restaurant groups, Polenta is a large and brightly decorated dining room on the Petrograd Side serving "new" Italian cuisine, which consists of a huge range of fairly traditional pastas and pizzas, plus more exotic entrees and, of course, polenta. Prices are reasonable, and the caged canaries are a popular feature of the interiors.
