Ulitsa Rubinshteina, a side street running parallel to the Fontanka River from Nevsky Prospekt, has become arguably St. Petersburg's finest dining street, lined with cafes and restaurants of all varieties. Sardina is one of the most famous, serving fresh Mediterranean seafood and very large portions of soup and pasta cooked by a native of Sicily. Prices are reasonably high, although a charming summer terrace is another major selling point.
