Goethe Institute

As well as offering language courses and examinations in the Common European Framework, the Goethe Institute organizes over 80 culutral events each year, including exhibitions, readings by contemporary authors, simposia, film screenings, theatrical performances and concerts. The library offers books, journals, films and study materials for a minimal yearly membership fee.

German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)

DAAD is the main organization supporting co-operation between German students and higher education institutions and their counterparts throughout the world. As well as providing information about studying in Germany, DAAD awards scholarships and grants for students and researchers, and places German academics in Russian universities.

Russo-German Meeting Centre at the Petrikirche

Based at the Church of Ss. Peter and Paul on Nevsky Prospekt, this organization is focused on fostering links between St. Petersburg and Germany, especially for children and young people. Activities include organized tours to Germany, language lessons for children, and charity projects for ethnic Germans living in Russia. The Centre is home to a permanent exhibition about the history of Germans in St. Petersburg and Russia.

German-Russian Cultural Exchange in St. Petersburg

Working for nearly two decades, this St. Petersburg organization arranges exchange programmes for volunteer workers, organizes school exchanges, places au pairs in St. Petersburg and Germany, facilitates cultural exchanges (concerts, exhibitions and other events), and promotes human rights through educational programmes. Every week, the Cultural Exchange hosts a German conversation club and screenings of German films.
