Local Sightseeing
St. Petersburg's top visitor attractions, including the Hermitage Museum and St. Isaac's Cathedral, are best reached by metro or bus from the corner of Nevsky Prospekt (journey time around 20 minutes door-to-door). Ligovskiy Prospekt and the area immediately around the hotel were historically industrial and impoverished, so there are few major historic sights nearby.Apart from Moscow Station itself, which is a fine neoclassical building by the Muscovite architec Konstantin Ton, the most interesting attractions within comfortable walking distance of the Crowne Plaza Ligovsky is probably the Pushkinskaya 10 cultural centre, a commune of underground artists in the late Soviet period which now hosts a variety of exhibition spaces, artists workshops, bars and live music venues, as well as the Museum of Non-conformist Art. Guests will also not be able to ignore the Victory Obelisk in front of Moscow Station on Ploshchad Vosstaniya, which was the last memorial to the Second World War to be erected in St. Petersburg.
