The History Hotel has a uniquely attractive location on the romantic Kanal Griboedova and within 5 minute walk from the world-famous Mariinsky Theater (formerly known and Kirov Ballet). Major attractions including the Bronze Horseman, St. Isaacs Cathedral, Nikolayevsky Palace, Yusupov Palace are within 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. There are several good restaurants on Ulitsa Dekabristov and Voznesensky Prospekt, all within a short walk from the hotel.This part of the historic center is not particularly well served by public transport, however there is a public transport stop on the neighboring Teatralnaya Ploschad (Theatre Square), where one can take a bus or mini-bus to the Nevsky Prospekt – the main avenue of the city – or to Vasilyesky Island. The nearest metro station, Sennaya Ploschad / Sadovaya, can be reached by 25 minute walk. Moskovsky Station is just over 5 km away down Nevsky Prospekt, and can be reached by car in around 20 minutes. Other mainline stations are a little further afield, but journeys should take no longer than 40-45 minutes, except the Ladozhsly Station which may take a little longer during rush hour traffic congestion. Pulkovo International Airport (terminals 1 – Domestic – and 2 – International) is about 17 km south of the city center, and guest should allow at least one hour for the drive, particularly at peak times.
