It is nearly seven kilometers from Moscow Railway Station to the Courtyard by Marriott, so if you are taking a taxi or have booked a transfer, the drive will take roughly 15 minutes. Enter the metro from the mainline station concourse, and head for the green line (Mayakovskaya Metro Station). The Courtyard by Marriott Vasilevskiy is just north of the historic centre of Vasilevskiy Island, a little over 15 minutes' walk from Birzhevaya Ploshchad, where you can see the Stock Exchange, the Rostral Columns and spectacular views across the river to the Winter Palace and the Peter and Paul Fortress. There is little of interest in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, with the possible exception of the Yubileyny Stadium, a venue for hockey matches and big concerts, across the Tuchkov Bridge and, beyond it, the Prince Vladimir Cathedral.
