Engineering House
Constructed 1748-1749, purportedly to designs by the military engineer N.I. Muravyev, the baroque Engineering House is one of the oldest unaltered buildings in the Peter and Paul Fortress. It originally housed the workshops and storerooms of the engineers who built and repaired the fortress's fortifications, as well as their living quarters and an archive. Now it is part of the exhibition space of the Museum of the History of St. Petersburg.
