This form is obtained by your accommodation provider - hotel or apartment landlord - when they register your arrival through the post office or local department of the Federal Migration Service. Part of the form will then be passed to you, and should be carried with your passport and visa during your stay. You may be required to show this document if stopped by the police during your stay - to confirm that you are legitimately registered - and you are now obliged by law to submit this form (or forms if you have registered in more than one place during your stay) at passport control on departure from the Russian Federation. |
