Timofey Markov Press and Gallery

This recently opened printing press was established by a local enthusiast and collector to publish limited edition hand-printed art books. Working closely with top local artists, Timofey Markov produces books devoted to St. Petersburg's rich cultural milieu, reviving traditions of graphic design and printing that stretch back to the avant garde movement of the 1910s and 1920s.

Whether the subject is constructivist architecture in St. Petersburg, retelling of traditional fairy tales, or illustrations to famous works of Russian literature, Timofey Markov's art books are both uniquely beautiful art objects and souvenirs that capture a particular aspect of the glorious cultural history of St. Petersburg/Leningrad. With the launch of each project, the gallery attached to the press holds exhibitions of the designs and illustrations that have gone into the making of each book.
