The exclusive Rocco Forte Collection brand owns and manages one of St. Petersburg's most famous historic hotels, the Astoria Hotel, and its neighbouring property, the equally celebrated Angleterre Hotels, is owned by the same company, although not branded as part of the Collection.

Less luxurious than the Astoria, the Angleterre shares the same location advantages - around five minutes' walk from Nevsky Prospekt, less than ten minutes to the Winter Palace, and right next to St. Isaac's Cathedral - but is a more modest property aimed mainly at business travellers. One St. Petersburg's oldest hotels (opened in 1876), the hotel lacks some modern conveniences, but has attractively decorated, although small, guest rooms, and very good MICE venues. Opened in 1912, the Astoria Hotel has accommodated a vast range of prominent guests, including Vladimir Lenin, H G Wells, George W Bush and Madonna. While the hotel will soon be in need of renovation, its larger rooms are beautifully designed to combine modern comforts with historic atmosphere. The location, directly opposite St. Isaac's Cathedral, is one of the best in the city, with all St. Petersburg's major visitor attractions, including the Hermitage and Nevsky Prospekt, a short walk away. »»»
